In order to connect to Universal Anywhere you need to download an app from the App Store which enables remote desktop connection to a window based environment. There are a number of apps of the market that provide this service but the demonstration below focuses on the iTap RDP app which is available from the iTunes store.*
As there are new apps constantly coming onto the market for the iPad, we will review our recommended apps list.

If you install the app successfully then follow the steps below in step two.
*Please note iTap RDP is a 3rd party piece of software not produced or supplied by Thesaurus Technology, which we recommend for use with our Universal Anywhere product. For any issues with regards to the installation and running of this software on your iPad you will need to contact iTap directly on support@itap-mobile.com
Connecting to Universal is very straight forward.
1. Launch to iTap RDP application
2. When the app opens you have a column on the left which allows you to add a manual bookmark. Select this as shown in figure 1.
3. Select the host and enter in the Universal server you are connecting to. E.g. server5.universalanywhere.net
4. Select the credentials option. In here you can enter your username and password supplied by Thesaurus Technology.
5. Save the bookmark. Now tap the new bookmark and it will come up with a connect button, tap this to launch into Universal.
Universal pages are designed
to run in landscape mode, and for ease of use we recommend using the screen rotation lock when in landscape view on your iPad.
To launch Universal simply click the icon on the windows desktop and login. The software functions extremely well on the iPad, along with its stylish design and mobile capabilities makes it a useful tool for accessing Universal Anywhere.
The iTap app has comprehensive help files which show some of the useful shortcuts, along with links to iTap's own website where more resources can be found.
Useful Tip!
You can change the mouse mode to Pointer Mode to make it more user friendly when using Universal Anywhere. You can select Pointer Mode in the bookmark configuration, and also switch during a session by using the utility bar (double tap with three fingers to show and hide it).
Pointer
Mode: In this mode the mouse cursor is always visible. You can
drag it around the screen with a singe finger (you do not have to
hit the pointer for that). Tap anywhere on the screen to click where
the pointer is. Tap with two fingers to perform a right click.
