Changing the VAT rate in Universal

As from 1st January 2010 the UK government has set the VAT rate back to 17.5%.
To change the VAT rate in Universal follow the steps below:

If you are running build 177 you will automatically be alerted in the new year to update the rate. Otherwise follow the steps below update the VAT rate manually.

1. Login to Universal as the Admin user.
2. Go to Tools along the top and select Maintenance from the list.
3. Select the System Settings tab.
4. Scroll down to the option VAT (standard) and click on this item.
5. Now in item box remove the current 15 and replace this with 17.5
6. Click Save.
7. Close the maintenance screen down and log out of Universal.

Once the above steps have been completed the next time you login to the software the standard rate of VAT will be 17.5%.
